How do you mend a broken heart? You shake your booty on national television, that's how.
I just saw tonight that our beloved Melissa is going to be on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. God, just what I need, another reality show to get hooked on. I've never seen a second of that show and don't understand why people dancing makes for riveting television. But I'll watch Melissa cut a rug, that's for sure. Damn her! Why can't I quit you, Melissa?!
And while reading about that, I came across another link that mentioned she had been on Ellen. The TV show, that is, not Ellen herself. Although... no, let's not go there. Turns out someone leaked some e-mail correspondence between her and Jason from immediately after the After the Final Rose episode. I'm sure you die-hards already know all this, but maybe there's someone else out there, like me, who doesn't follow every piece of pop culture news 24/7, so this is for you. At the bottom of the article is the full thread between the two ex-lovers. Melissa really lets him have it, in a kind of passive-aggressive way. Make of it what you will. But this part jumped out at me: She wrote, "...ironic, eh?"
If Jill had written, or said, that, every American would have jumped all over her cute/weird Canadian accent. The fact is, I hear it a lot from Americans, too. And Aussies, and Brits, and, well, everyone. But maybe Mel has a little Canadian in her.
(I'd like to put a little Canadian in her, if you know what I mean...)
Okay, that was gross. I just set myself up and couldn't resist the cheap joke.
Sorry. I'll go now.
